By default each class has its own allowance on a plan. A shared allowance lets several classes draw on one combined allowance instead. For example, Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching can share "8 sessions a month". A customer can then book 5 of one and 3 of the other, or 8 and 0, or any mix, up to 8 in all.
Where to Find This
Open What you sell in your console. Under Plans and packs is a list of its own, Shared allowances, with a count, then Add a shared allowance and each allowance you have, with the classes that share it. The list is there only if your Bizzly plan includes shared allowances, and only for administrators. See The What You Sell Screen.
Shared allowances come with the same Bizzly plans as session allowances and booking rules. Without them the list is not shown.
Making a Shared Allowance
Press Add a shared allowance. A sheet opens headed Add a shared allowance, with the line "Services that share one allowance of sessions".
- 1
Name it
Name is "Shown in your list of shared allowances." Pick something that makes sense to you, such as "Weekly Group Sessions". Two shared allowances cannot have the same name: the sheet says "You already have a shared allowance called “Weekly Group Sessions”. Give this one a different name."
- 2
Tick the classes that share it
Under Services that share it, tick the classes. The line under it says "One allowance of sessions that customers can spend on any of these. At least two." With fewer than two, the sheet says "Pick at least two services to share it." Two shared allowances cannot cover exactly the same classes: instead, give the first one more plans.
- 3
Press Add the allowance
A message at the bottom of the screen says Shared allowance added, with Undo.
A new shared allowance has no sessions of its own yet. A line says so: "It shares sessions between these services once a plan gives it some. Choose how many under What it includes on a plan."
Giving It Sessions on a Plan
How many sessions the allowance gives is set plan by plan.
- 1
Open the plan's What it includes
On Plans and packs, press the plan, then What it includes. See Plans & Booking Quotas.
- 2
Find Which shared allowances does it include?
Each allowance has a block that says "Shared by Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching. A shared allowance counts the sessions of all its services together, so a change here changes every one of them."
- 3
Switch it on and set the sessions
Switch Included on, then set the number of sessions and, for a plan that repeats, how often they reset, just as for a single class. Press Save.
On the same sheet, a class that a shared allowance covers shows "Included through the shared allowance Weekly Group Sessions. Change it with the shared allowances below." Its own allowance is the shared one.
Changing a Shared Allowance
Press it in the list. The sheet is titled with its name, with the same two boxes, Name and Services that share it. Under them a line says which plans give it sessions, for example "Monthly Plan gives it sessions. Change how many under What it includes on that plan." Or, if none does, "No plan gives it sessions yet. Choose how many under What it includes on a plan." Press Save. A message at the bottom of the screen says Shared allowance changed, with Undo.
Removing a Shared Allowance
At the foot of the sheet is the quiet button Remove this shared allowance. It asks Remove this shared allowance?, and says "Weekly Group Sessions is removed." and "The services stay as they are. The sessions it gave plans go with it, and a service goes back to its own allowance on a plan if it had one before. It cannot be put back from here." Type delete and press Remove the shared allowance, or press Keep it. A message at the bottom of the screen says Shared allowance removed, and there is no Undo.
Tips
Use a shared allowance for choice. It works well when customers should be able to mix related services, such as salon treatments, coaching types or lesson subjects.
Check the plan afterwards. Open What it includes on each plan that should use the allowance and set its sessions, or the allowance gives nothing.
