Some businesses book sessions for someone other than the person who holds the account: a child at a kids' club, a pet at a dog walker's, a student at a music school. Each of them is a record under the customer. This article shows how to add one and how to change what you hold about them. In it, "child" stands for whatever your business calls them; you will see your own word on screen, so a pet-care business sees Add a pet.
What you ask about each of them is set up under What you ask about people. See What You Ask About People.
Where to Find This
Open Customers in your console and press the customer's row. Their screen has a line named after the people they look after, such as Children. Open it and each one is a row. The rows show twenty at a time with Previous and Next under them, and once there are more than twenty a search field above them finds one by name. See A Person's Screen.
- To look at or change one, press their row.
- To add one, press Add a child above the rows.
You can also add one while you are in the middle of something else. When you book someone into a session or make a payment link with Payment link, the question Who is it for? has an Add a child row under the people to choose from. If the customer has nobody yet, that row is the whole answer.
The group appears for a business that keeps these records. If your plan does not include them, an administrator sees a card called Not in your plan yet with a See plans button in its place, and other roles see nothing.
Adding One
- 1
Press Add a child
A sheet opens, headed Add a child (or Add an animal, Add a pony, and so on in your business's word). For a moment it says that it is reading what you ask about them.
- 2
Answer the first questions
The questions you require an answer to come first, in the order you asked them. The one the child is called by must always be answered, even if you did not mark it as required, because Bizzly has to call them something. If nothing is marked required, you are asked your first question so that the sheet is never empty.
- 3
Open More options if you need to
The rest of your questions sit under More options, which is closed under a line naming them, for example Also asked: Date of birth and School year, or counting them when there are many, such as 5 more questions. If an answer in there fails its check when you press the button, More options opens by itself.
- 4
Press Add child
The button is named in your business's word, so a pet-care business sees Add pet. The child is added straight away and a message at the bottom of the screen says Child added (in your business's word, such as Pet added). The customer's screen updates, so the new row is there.
If you came from a booking or from Payment link, the new child is chosen as the answer to Who is it for? and the questions carry on from there.
If you have asked nothing about them yet, the sheet says Nothing is asked about a child yet, so one cannot be added here. Add your questions first under What you ask about people.
If the child cannot be added, the reason is shown under the button and nothing is added. The sheet cannot be closed while a child is being added.
Changing One
Press the child's row. The sheet is headed with their name and says Their details under it. It is the form you wrote, with their answers filled in, and every question you ask appears in the order you asked it.
Change what you need and press Save, which appears at the foot of the sheet beside Cancel once you have changed something. Only the answers you changed are saved. The message at the bottom reads Details changed.
What Your Role Sees
- A team member who can change customers can add and change.
- A team member who can only look at customers still opens a child's row and sees the same form, but with the note You can look at this, but your role cannot change it. Ask an administrator. and no Save button. They are not offered Add a child.
