Ask or tell Bizzly lets you change your business by typing what you want, in your own words: "Move Saturday to 10:00", "Close for the October holiday", "Change the price to £45". Bizzly works out the change, shows you exactly what it will do, and does nothing until you press Do it. You can also just ask a question, such as "How do I close for a holiday?" or "What is a pack?". Bizzly answers briefly, in a few plain sentences taken from the help articles, and normally ends with a link to the help article that answers it. If it cannot find one, it says so.
You can reach it from any screen in the console. To describe a whole offering at once, see Setting Up Bookings with the AI Assistant.
Where to Find This
Only administrators see it. You will find Ask or tell Bizzly:
- in the rail, on a laptop or tablet: a card at the foot of the rail with a line under it, "Ask a question, or say “Change the price to £45”" (and again as a button under Do something on Home)
- on a phone, in More and as a row at the foot of most screens, with the same line under it (the symbol is your own currency)
- as a row in the search results, when a search finds nothing (see Searching Your Console)
Ask or tell Bizzly is part of the Standard and Pro plans. If your plan does not include it, the sheet shows a card headed Not in your plan yet, with a See plans button, and nothing else. If your business has no website yet, it shows a card for that instead (Create your first site).
A question needs nothing more than that, so you can ask one before your setup is finished or Google Calendar is connected. A change works on your live business, so it also waits for your setup to be finished and Google Calendar to be connected. Until both are done, the sheet says "Bizzly can answer questions now, and can change things once setup is finished and Google Calendar is connected.", shows a card for the next step (Finish setting up first, then Connect Google Calendar), and offers questions only. While Bizzly is reading your setup, the sheet says Reading your setup.
Asking a Question
Ask about how something works or where something is in Bizzly, such as "How do I close for a holiday?" Bizzly answers briefly, in a few plain sentences taken from the help articles, written as plain text with no bold marks. It normally ends with a link to the help article that answers your question, shown as the article's address. It opens in a new tab, so the conversation stays where it is. Only an article from this help centre becomes a link; any other address in a reply stays as plain words. If Bizzly cannot find an article that answers it, it says so.
A request to change something works as it always has: Bizzly works out the change, shows you the card, and waits for you to press Do it.
If you ask how to change something, for example "How do I change the price of Autumn pack?", Bizzly explains it first and then offers to make the change for you. It makes no change until you say yes, and then you still see the card of what it will do and press Do it.
How to Use It
- 1
Open it
Press Ask or tell Bizzly. The sheet explains: "Ask how something works, or tell Bizzly what to change. Nothing changes until you have seen it and said Do it."
- 2
Say what you want
Type in the box headed Your message, then press Send (or Enter; use Shift+Enter for a new line). If you would rather not start from a blank box, pick a suggestion. Under Ask how it works are up to three questions, such as "How do I change the price of Autumn pack?" (made from your own first plan), "How do customers book" followed by the name of your first service and a question mark ("How do parents book" at a kids' club), "How do I close for a holiday?" and "What is a pack?". With no plan to go by, the first question is "How do I change a price?" Under Try saying, which appears once changes are possible, are the changes. The empty box also shows "Change the price to £45" in grey as a hint, in your own currency. Every suggestion fills the box for you to edit, and sends nothing. It never writes over words you have already typed. The changes are: Move Saturday to 10:00, Change a price, Add a Wednesday session (the last word is your business's own, so a window cleaner sees Add a Wednesday clean and a home cleaner sees Add a Wednesday visit), Close for the October holiday, Fill my week, Add or change what you sell and Stop selling something. Change a price is about your own first plan: it fills the box with a sentence such as "Change the price of Autumn pack to £45" (in your own currency), for you to edit. If your plans cannot be read, or you sell nothing yet, it is a sentence with a gap left for the name. Under them are Or start from your own setup, which offers examples built from your own classes and plans, Describing all of it at once, with a Start from a template button, and What to tell me, a list of what is worth covering.
- 3
Wait while Bizzly works it out
The conversation shows Working out what to change, with a tick for each part Bizzly has done so far, for example Checking the help articles while it looks up an answer, or Updating your plans while it prepares a change. If Bizzly needs to ask you something, its short answers appear as buttons under its message, so you can tap one instead of typing.
- 4
Read what it will do
When Bizzly has a change to suggest, a card headed This will: lists each step. A step that would take something away is marked Takes something away, and a step that reaches people already on a plan says how many.
- 5
Press Do it, or Not that
Do it makes the change. While it is being made the sheet says Making the change and cannot be closed. If it takes something away, or reaches people who are already on a plan, Bizzly asks you a question first, in the same way as everywhere else in the console (see How Changes Work). Not that throws the suggestion away; Bizzly replies "Nothing was changed. Tell me what to change instead." and you can try again.
When the change goes through, the sheet closes and a message at the bottom of the screen says Done, with an Undo button for a few seconds. Whichever screen you were on updates, so you see the result straight away.
Taking a Change Back
Press Undo on the message. A sheet puts the change back as soon as it opens and the message then says Changed back. If you miss it, the Undo last change row on What you sell, above the tabs, does the same. See How Changes Work for what can and cannot be undone.
If Your Setup Changed While You Were Looking
Bizzly works out its suggestion from your setup as it was when you asked. If something else changed in the meantime (you or a colleague, in another tab), making the suggestion could put back whatever has changed since. So Bizzly makes no change and says: "Your setup changed since Bizzly worked this out, so nothing was changed. Ask again and Bizzly will work it out from your setup as it is now." Press Ask again to repeat what you said from the setup as it is now, or Not that to leave it.
Starting Again
Start over, at the top of the conversation, clears it and begins a fresh one. If a change Bizzly worked out is waiting, it asks Start a new conversation? first and warns that the change will be thrown away; choose Start over or Keep it.
Bizzly keeps your conversation for the website you are working on, so closing the sheet, or reloading the page in the same browser tab, does not lose it. Close the sheet and open it again and you see the same conversation, with any reply that arrived in the meantime already in it. After you reload the page in the same tab, the first time you open the sheet it shows Reading your conversation for a moment, and then your earlier messages. A reply that had finished by then is there. Words you had typed but not sent are still in the box. A new browser tab, or a different person signed in on the same tab, starts a fresh conversation.
If the earlier messages cannot be read, the sheet says "Your earlier conversation could not be read. You can still ask something new." If Bizzly cannot carry on a conversation, it starts a new one and says "That conversation could not be continued, so a new one has started. Your question is back in the box: send it again." Once a change has been made, the conversation ends and the sheet opens on the suggestions again.
Your AI Allowance
Every message that gets an answer uses one of your plan's monthly AI generations. A line under the box shows where you stand, for example "12 of 60 AI generations left this billing period". If you run out, a card headed AI limit reached appears with a See plans button, and Send and the quick replies stop working. You can upgrade, or wait for your allowance to reset at the start of your next billing period. A message that fails is put back in the box for you to send again when you are ready, rather than being sent again for you. See Understanding Usage Limits.
Say one thing, check the card, press Do it, then say the next. It is easier to read three steps than thirty, and Undo only takes back the last change.
