A good picture helps a class or a product sell. You choose one in the sheet you use to add or change the class or product, in one of three ways: a file from your device, a picture your website already has, or a free stock photo.
Where to Find This
- For a class or camp: open What you sell in your console, choose the first tab (Services, or Sessions and camps at a kids' club), and open the class or press Add and choose Service or Programme. The field is headed A picture. See Adding and Changing a Class or Camp.
- For a product: choose Products and open the product, or press Add and choose Product. The first picture is headed A picture, with up to three more under More options. See Setting Up Your Merch Store.
The field shows the picture you have, or says No picture yet. Under it are the buttons Choose a picture, From your pictures and Find a stock photo, and, once there is a picture, Remove the picture.
Nothing is kept until you press the sheet's own button (Save, Put it on the page or Add the product). When you add a class or camp in three steps, the field is on the first step, What, and the picture is kept when you press Put it on the page on the last.
Choosing a File From Your Device
Press Choose a picture and pick a file. It can be a PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP or GIF, up to 25MB. The picture is added to your website's pictures at once, and the field says Uploading the picture while that happens. The sheet's button waits until it has finished.
If the file will not do, the field says so in words and keeps the picture you had:
- "That file is not a picture. Use a PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP or GIF."
- "That picture is over 25MB. Choose a smaller one."
- "The picture could not be read."
- "The picture could not be added. Please try again."
Using a Picture Your Website Already Has
Press From your pictures. The sheet shows a step headed From your pictures, with "Tap a picture to use it." and your website's pictures as a grid, each with its name. Tap one and you are taken back to the form with that picture chosen.
The pictures show twenty at a time, with Previous and Next under them when there is more than one page. Once you have more than twenty, a search box appears (Search your pictures, "Search by name"). With none yet, the step says "You have not added any pictures yet." If they cannot be read, it says "Your pictures could not be loaded." with Retry.
These are the same pictures you manage in the page editor. See Managing Your Media Library.
Using a Stock Photo
Press Find a stock photo. The step is headed Find a stock photo, with "Free photos from Pexels. Tap one to use it." It starts with a choice of photos. Type what you are looking for into Search for a photo, such as a flower, and after you stop typing it shows the photos that match, twenty at a time, with Previous and Next under them when there is more than one page. Each photo carries its credit: "Photo by" the photographer, "on Pexels".
Tap a photo and Bizzly first adds it to your website's pictures ("Adding the photo to your pictures"), then uses it. You cannot go back while that happens. If it fails, the step says so under the photos and keeps the picture you had.
If nothing matches, the step says No photos found for "flower". Try other words. If the photos cannot be found, it says "Stock photos could not be found just now."
Find a stock photo is offered only to people who may change the website's content. A team member who looks after the shop alone sees Choose a picture and From your pictures.
Going Back
From your pictures and Find a stock photo are steps of the same sheet. A button at the top, such as Back to the service (in your business's word, for example Back to the session or Back to the camp) or Back to the product, returns you to the form exactly as you left it, with everything you had typed and any part you had opened still there.
Taking a Picture Off
Press Remove the picture. It asks nothing, and the picture comes off when you press the sheet's own button. The picture stays in your website's pictures.
Where the Picture Shows
- A class: the Service sheet says "It is shown with the service on your website." The picture appears on the class's row on What you sell. On your website, the card of a pack or a season plan shows the picture of the first class it includes that has one, unless the card on your page has a picture of its own. A credits plan or a joining fee shows no class picture.
- A product: the first picture is "the one customers see first, on your shop and at checkout." Later pictures are seen after it. A product can have up to four pictures. The next free place is added as you fill the one before.
Keep the first picture of a product clean and square. It is the one on the card and at checkout.
