Bizzly sends your customers messages for you, from a booking confirmation to a payment receipt. The What customers receive pane lists the messages Bizzly sends your customers, says when each goes out and how it reaches the customer, and shows you a preview of what they read.
There is nothing to change in this pane. The wording is the same for every business, and your name and contact details are filled in for you. For what each message contains in detail, see Automated Notifications.
Where to Find This
Open Website in your console and press What customers receive, the third row under Content, after Name and tagline and Pages. The row says "A preview of each email customers get from you, and when it is sent".
It opens a pane headed What customers receive, with the line "The emails customers get from you, and when". If your role may look at the website, you see the row.
The List
The messages are in four groups, each under its own heading: Bookings, Payments, Orders and Your account. Each message is a row:
- its name is when it is sent, for example When someone books a session
- the line under it says how it reaches the customer, for example By email
- Preview at the right opens it
While the pane reads, it says Reading what customers receive.
Bookings
Payments
The three free-trial messages are also described in Automated Notifications.
A refund message goes out when a refund is recorded against a plan payment. A pack bought on your website or with a payment link has no refund message of its own: its customer is emailed about each session that is cancelled. The row above that reads When a pack is refunded is the console's own words for that message, and it is not sent for a pack bought today. See Refunding a Payment.
Orders
Your Account
The line under each message names the ways it reaches customers, for example By email and WhatsApp or By email, WhatsApp and text message. Every message goes by email. The reminder, the review request and the payment link can also go by WhatsApp or text message, depending on your plan and on the customer's own choice.
The list does not include messages sent to you rather than to your customers, such as alerts about your account and invitations to your team. Sign-in codes and password messages are not there either, because they always come from Bizzly.
Previewing One Message
Press a row, which says Preview at its right. A pane opens headed with when the message is sent, with the line "A sample, written to a made-up customer." A button at the top, What customers receive, takes you back to the list.
The pane has three parts:
- What does the customer read? The Subject, and the Message as plain text in a block of its own. It is not drawn as an email, so it shows the words and not the design. The made-up customer is called Sam Taylor, with a child called Alex, and the details are not those of any real person.
- How does it reach them? For example By email.
- Who is it from? Either Sent from and your own address, or Sent from the shared Bizzly address.
At the foot, a line says "The wording is the same for every business. Your name and contact details are filled in for you."
Who the Message Is From
For an administrator, Who is it from? is a row. It says Change the name or the address under your own address, or Set up an address of your own under the shared Bizzly address. Press it to open Where your emails come from. The sheet reads your addresses and uses the domain that serves your website, so you can set up your own sender from here as well as from Web address. A domain of your own must be connected first, under Web address. See Setting Up Your Email Domain. If Bizzly could not read the sender just now, it does not claim one: the row reads Where your emails come from, with Check or change the name and address under it.
For anyone else, the line only tells you who the message is sent from. If Bizzly could not read the sender just now, that part is left out.
When Something Is Missing
- Preview not available just now. A message that could not be shown is listed with this line and cannot be opened. A note above the list says "A preview of some messages is not available just now. The rest are shown."
- Some details could not be read just now, so the way a message is sent may be missing. The list is shown, but the way a message is sent, or who it is from, may be left out.
- What customers receive could not be shown just now. Please try again. Press Try again.
- There are no messages to show yet.
Read two or three of the previews before you open for bookings, such as When someone books a session and The day before a session, so you know exactly what a customer will see.
