AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude can read a short plain-text file on your website, called llms.txt, to learn who you are. Bizzly keeps that file for you. You can leave it to your website to write, or write your own.
Where to Find This
Open Website in your console, press Show on Google under Google and reviews, and press the What AI assistants read row under the heading What should AI assistants read about you? The row says Your own text if you have written your own, or Written by your website from your details if you have not.
It opens a sheet headed What AI assistants read, with the line "The text AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude read about your business". The button at the top, Show on Google, takes you back.
Changing this text is for people whose role allows them to change what Google is told.
What Your Website Writes for Itself
If you have not written your own text, your website writes one from your business details and keeps it up to date when they change. The sheet says: "You have not written your own, so your website writes this itself from your business details, and keeps it up to date."
The text it writes names your business and gives your description, then your contact details (phone, email, address and website address), your social media links, and a link to your home page. Add those details in Your details for Google. See Adding Your Business Information.
Writing Your Own
- 1
See what is there now
The box headed What they read shows the text your website shares today, whether it is yours or the one your website wrote. The line under the box says where it is shared, for example "Your website shares it at www.yourclub.co.uk/llms.txt."
- 2
Start from your details, if you like
Press Write it from your business details. It fills the box with text made from your details, for you to change as you like. If you have typed words that are not saved, Bizzly asks Replace what you have typed? first. Choose Replace it or Keep typing.
- 3
Write your text
Type or edit in the box. Keep it factual and short. It can be up to 20,000 characters.
- 4
Press Save
As soon as you change the text, a foot appears at the bottom of the sheet with Cancel and Save. Until then the top of the sheet says Saved. Press Save and the sheet closes and a message says What AI assistants read changed, with an Undo button. When you open the sheet again, the sentence at the top reads "This is the text you wrote. Your website shares it with AI assistants as it is."
Handing It Back to Your Website
If you have written your own text and want your website to write it again, you have two ways:
- Empty the box and press Save.
- Use the generated one. More options appears when you have your own text, with a line under it saying Let your website write it. Open it and, under Would you rather your website wrote it?, press Use the generated one. The box shows what your website will write, and a note says "Save to make the change. Your own text is put away." Press Save to make it. Keep my text takes you back to your own words before you save.
After you save, a message says Your website now writes what AI assistants read.
What This File Is
The row What this file is, with the line "The convention AI assistants follow", opens llmstxt.org in a new tab. It is a short public page that explains the file, for anyone curious.
Taking It Back
Press Undo on the message, or the Undo a change row under Tools on the Website screen. It puts the text back as it was. See How Changes Work.
Say what you do, where you work and how to book, in plain sentences. If your details change, update them in Your details for Google and let your website keep the text up to date.
